About AppPortrait
What is AppPortrait?
AppPortrait is a public library and discussion community for app ideas. It helps independent developers, founders and people using AI coding tools find a problem to explore before they start building.
You can read the idea library without an account. Each brief describes a problem, a proposed solution, a target audience and key features. Sign in to contribute an idea, vote or join a discussion.
Community ideas and Radar research
Community ideas are submitted by people. Idea Radar uses AI to research potential opportunities. The library labels Radar leads separately so you can see where an idea came from.
An idea is a starting point for research. A published brief, vote count or Radar score does not prove customer demand, profitability or the accuracy of every claim. Check the evidence and talk to potential customers before investing in a build.
How to choose an idea to build
Start with a customer group you can reach. Search the library for their workflow or problem, read the full brief and save the most relevant ideas. Your shortlist is stored on the device you use.
Compare existing solutions, interview potential customers and test a small prototype or paid pilot. Use the discussion to ask questions and find collaborators. AI can help you build; customer evidence helps you decide what is worth building.
